- 22 April 2009- The IGUASSU ITEREI Citizenship Movement Reference Center for Water, Forests and Mountains´ 2009 EARTH DAY CELEBRATION gives focus to the participation, the prevention and the precautionary essential principles to be addressed when dealing whith challenges as the abrupt climate change , the current loss of biological diversity , the worldwide water scarcity and the concomitant lobbied global forces for flexibilization of the environmental laws and regulations, as says the IGUASSU ITEREI cordinator, the pedagogue Léa Corrêa Pinto . The IGUASSU ITEREI 2009 Campaign is a virtual diffusion of civil society emblematic initiatives. Listed below are 106 selected petitions, manifests, acts, films, tips, academic studies, publications, articles, indexes which are linked to their integral documents and may be object of research , register or studies . This IGUASSU ITEREI 2009 Campaign maintains and intensifies its previous one , held on the last bienium for WWD-2007-EDN The purpose of IGUASSU ITEREI 2009 Campaign is to give public knowledege and empower contemporary civil actions to safeguard Earth's regenerative capacities, human rights, and community well-being, to secure Earth's bounty and beauty for present and future generations. The comtemporary actions postulate for immediate attention on the combined forces of Social & Environmental Responsibility. It is an IGUASSU ITEREI voluntary cooperation with the purpose of highlighting mainly, some recognized social control, ethical and paradigmatical actions of this 21 Civil Society, prior to , the Green Generation - that comes with the mission to participate individually or collectively, of the revolutionary and urgent construction of solutions for the social and the environmental issues- created by the unsustainable acts, of nowadays or those generated on the past. The campaign will be completed with the IGUASSU ITEREI EARTH DAY 2009 CELEBRATION - on the 22nd April 2009 - 8:00 AM- performed by the traditional expedition to the IGUASSU ITEREI Water, Forests, Mountains Citizenship Movement Reference Center based in-situ at the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest Peaks, among a threatened net of pure freshwater sparkling streams . The expedition is opened to all those who previously subscribe. Although the civil society efforts, not all causes resulted to have a happy end , but all actions are an exemplary step for the efficiency for new demands..
22 de Abril de 2009- O Centro de Referência do Movimento da Cidadania pelas Águas Florestas e Montanhas Iguassu Iterei, , celebra o Dia da Terra 2009, difundindo virtualmente ações emblemáticas da sociedade civil com vistas a garantir a salvaguarda da Terra para a presente e futuras gerações. A campanha dá continuidade à realizada no biênio anterior para o Dia Mundial da Água 2007. Encontram-se abaixo listadas 106 iniciativas tais como petições , manifestso, moções, atos, filmes, dicas, estudos acadêmcios, índices anteriores, publicações e artigos. Todas as iniciativas selecionadas estão vinculadas a seus documentos integrais permitindo a pesquisa e estudos. Conforme, Léa Corrêa Pinto, coordenadora de Iguassu Iterei, a presente contribuição está amparada nos princípios do conhecimento, participação, da precaução e da prevenção, que são essenciais quando se lida com a mudança de clima , a perda acelerada da biodiversidade , as crises da água do mundo e o lobby pela flexibilização global da legislação ambiental. Trata-se de uma cooperação voluntária de Iguassu Iterei CR MCPA Florestas e Montanhas, com vistas a dar conheciento público e empoderar as ações paradigmáticas e éticas desta sociedade civil, que antecede a Geração 21. A chamada Geração Verde, que aí vem com a missão de construir num rápido processo , as inovações e as soluções urgentíssimas para as questões sociais e ambientais causadas pelos atos insustentáveis de hoje e pelos gerados no passado. A celebração Dia da Terra 2009 é finalizada com a tradicional caminhada ao âmago do Centro de Referência Iguassu Iterei na Mata Atlântica Ombrófila Densa Primária de Neblina no Topo da Serra do Mar. Nem todas as causas tiveram um final feliz, contudo, todas contriibuiram para maior eficácia das proposituras da sociedade civil

Soon we will be uploadong a video of the Governor of Tokyo's latest press conference, in which a journalist refers to letter sent to the governor by my husband Paul regarding Minamiyama Mountain, it is shocking what the governor had to say defence of the destruction of the forests and we hope it will inspie everyone to join the Save Minamiyama Mountain movement.

Different hemispheres...different campaigns..yet same focus...people and the planet need to live in harmony without war,famine,disease.Without racial intolerance,hatred or biggotry.
We have 897 channels here only 1 dedicated to Teaching...yet we have one of the worst literacy rates in Western Europe.In a perfect world we'd have every channel broadcasting the importance of recycling,ecology,preserving our planet,the species on it and the biosphere.
I agree its different struggles but its the same battle for the future of our planet...and more importantly our children & grandchildrens planet.
Your site is very empowering~positive~and motivating.Thank you ...I am sure we will talk more...we have cyber~space & we can create Utopia here,The Architects of the green future have already begun designing a clean,free and green planet.
