Lets Save Our World Together

Help...

We Have the Power

We have the power to change an hour before our planet is left to devour

Make no excuses, do your part,

if you have not, it is time to start

The sky is light, the sun is bright,

let us head out there people, it is the time to fight

We have one home, and she is all alone,

we can take care of her if we set the tone.

GO GREEN!

About Me:
I am a Business Management major at the University of the District of Columbia. I am also part of a enviornmental movement at the university called the "Earth Fellowship". Human activities have caused carbon dioxide to increase over the years, i.e., the Industrial Revolution in England, Europe and the United States. The Industrial Revolution opened way to human triggered climate change. Back in the 18th and 19th centuries, you had the steel mills, saw mills and coal mines that hurt major cities and produced a lot of CO2. Factories used machines that produced a great number of coal and oil. To make matters worse, automobiles, by the 20th Century run on gasoline, which is a fossil fuel. Here is another interesting tidbit. The Northern Hemisphere is warming faster than the Southern Hemisphere. If you look at a map, you see that mainly your major cities are in the Northern Hemisphere. Destroying forests is also a contributing factor to global warming. So, when you destroy forests around the earth CO2 cannot be removed.

Look At Where You Live...

Over 200 cities in the west have reached record-high temperatures. The surface temperature of the planet has been 0.9 degrees Fahrenheit warmer since the 1800’s. Will this number continue to rise? According to Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, the ten hottest years have all occurred in the last 14 years: 1990, 1991, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, the hottest of all. As you see, it seems that since 2005 is the hottest of all, this must mean that the temperatures were prog… Continue

The Story of Stuff

It is an unfortunate cycle that we have created and it has destroyed the Earth for the past hundreds of years. We are the inhabitants of this beautiful World and it is our responsibility to take care of it. However, we continue to damage Her with things that are not important in life - material things. Material items have caused the people of this… Continue
