Earth Day

Be part of the global Earth Day Network

My trip to Earth has been a blast. I have climbed many hills and fallen into many valleys. I have laid in the desert heat and felt the coldness of the ice age (Chicago).

I have found there to be many things to become involved with and to expand my own awareness of self consciousness.

To go beyond the known and the unknown - to second guess the tv talking heads that errogently say there is no global warming while they and their families bunker down beneath the earths crust to wait out the oncoming saddness and extermination of our own doing.

Those naysayers that say there is nothing wrong with the air - as I lay flopping around on the floor because an asthma attack has me in her clutches.

Those naysayers that say there is nothing wrong with the water - and here we have people dying from cancer.

Those naysayers that say there is nothing wrong with housing for the poor - while mold and other bacterias build up and poison them in their sleep.

Those naysayers that say there is nothing wrong with the food supply and yet there is a new dis-ease being named everyday.

What is the matter with this picture?

I chose to come to this Earth because she is beautiful and the people different.

And, I for one in this new generation of family chose to make a stand -

I may not be rich - wealthy or healthy but I can send out the good vibrations and light to do my share.

I can enlighten myself and be more aware of my daily dealings and know that She will see us through this.

For She is the great Mother we call Earth.

That is so true. Being an asthmatic made it worse when I lived in New Orleans. I had that mold growing under the floorbords and onto my bed frames. I was rushed to the hospital - unconscious. I came to find out that the landlords/ladies, were not held accountable for there rented property. They had this thing called 'the Napolianic law'. It means that if you complain to the city about your landlord/lady - not keeping up with repairs and you withhold rent to do the repairs yourself - the landlord/lady can serve you a 7 day quit notice - eviction. And the city would stand behind them aka - no renters rights. So this is one reason for derelict properties and homelessness in NOLA.
