Profile

About Me:
I graduated from Purdue University in 1987 with Natural Resources degree, and have been employed in Environmental Education and Soil &Water Conservation. I am currently a contract tutor with an organization that services No Child Left Behind students. I have a 3-season greenhouse and a business which still needs a plan. I am leaning towards growing & selling at-risk medicinal plants.
I am married, and have a daughter at home. My oldest son is married, is a new father, and is living in MI.

I am also a board member of the Huntington(IN) County Humane Society. It can be a lot of work, and a lot of fun!

My family of 3-2-legged animals has 3 cats, 2 dogs, 2 turtles, and 1 rabbit. Yesterday was 1 of the most difficult I've had in a long time. I made the decision to have my old cat, Bentley, euthanized. After my daughter & I had struggled through the evening, I came to this conclusion about losing a loved one: It doesn't matter how or why it happens. The death can be long and lingering, or I can choose to end it kindly. Watching a beloved cat like Bentley die is excruciatingly painful. I knew it had to be done, and I watched as he slipped peacefully away. But DAMN it hurts!

On a positive note, my life has been richer for 17 years because of him.

I earned a Horticultural Therapy certificate through the Horticultural Therapy Institute, and have details on my website http://www.flintridgefarms.com.
