About Me:
I am an Author from Japan. My first ten books were Love Stories. My eleventh changed my life.
After winning a scholarship, I received an education in English at Wittenberg University in Ohio, the United States and in my early twenties was a reporter for magazines and newspapers and later a television presenter and interpreter. In 2005, I was invited to write a book about Earthwalker Paul Coleman, whom I'd met after one of his presentations in Japan. Shortly after the book was released I joined his walk around the island of Okinawa where he was planting trees for people killed at war.

Away from the stress of day to day Tokyo I experienced the real joy of being alive. I felt one with nature. And through the journey I realized just how wonderful it was to be helping others, to be doing something good for the Earth. Paul does not travel with a tent, so when we slept outside I witnessed for the first time in my life shooting stars, on many occasions awoke to see the rising sun paint the ocean pink. Meeting people with goodwill, doing good work gave me a sense of hope that we can make the world a better place. In September 2005 I got married to Paul and now we are walking through China, spreading the Earthday is Everyday Message as we make our way from Hong Kong to Beijing, planting trees as a part of China’s effort to ‘Green The 2008 Olympic Games.’

Before I met Paul my home was my country. Now my home is the Earth.

Hi, Meredith
I visited your page and really liked your video of Excess Packaging. It is really cool! The title of our book is called "Paul Coleman, The Man Who Planted Trees - 42000 km Walk" (木を植える男 ポール・コールマン 42000キロ徒歩の旅)It is published by Kadokawa Shoten. Our book is sold on www. amazon.jp. Japan is a country of full of natural beauty with lots of forests, streams and mountains, but as well as the rest of the world, it is rapidly losing its natural beauty in the name of "development". I really hope that Japan advances the sustainable development.

Wow, what a beautiful story Konomi. Who says miracles don't happen, every day, on Planet Earth.

I look forward to meeting you one of these days and seeing my old friend Paul Coleman, EarthWalker, once again.

Take care and go well.
